George Arthur Brey, 98, of Mesquite, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2020. He was born on June 16, 1922 in Dallas to his parents, James and Myrtle Brey. George honorable served in the U.S. Navy as an Electrician’s Mate from 1942 to 1946 and was recognized with a Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal, 2 Stars for African European Campaign, 1 Star for Presidential Unit Citation, and a Philippine Liberation Campaign Ribbon. After his time in the service, George worked at Western Technologies, which would later become AT&T, as an Installation Supervisor. George will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Brey; parents, Mrytle and James Brey; three sisters, Margarita Elizabeth Brey, Ester Lois English, Fay Marie Pickle; and two brothers, Cleave Brey and Johnny Brey.
George is survived by sister, Betty Lou Colbert; brother, Paul Brey; his sons, Mark Brey and Craig Brey; grandchildren, Kerry Thorne, Kristen Williams, Delaney Rae Brey Hayes, and Steven Brey; great- grandchildren, Lavon Thorne, Walter Mason Williams, Brayden George Thorne, Marjorie Mischa Williams, and Kinsley Rose Thorne.

The graveside service will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 14th in Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth with Pastor Jalil Ordoobadi officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy. Arrangements are in the care of Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Rd. Fort Worth, TX 76134.
