George Boyd Jr.

Upon turning 18, George enlisted in the Air Force, where he served with distinction for over 20 years. Among his many honors were the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and National Defense Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Willie Micher, Theodore Micher, and Nathaniel Micher; sisters: Ernestine Davis, and Marcil Byrd; and grandson: Lawrence Boyd, Jr. He is survived by his daughter: Sharen Boyd; sons: Victor Boyd and his wife Ella, and Lawrence Boyd and his wife D’africa; the mother of his children: Wilma Boyd; brother: Roosevelt Micher; sisters: Joan Smith, and Elizabeth Akins; grandchildren: Marcus Boyd, Phillip Boyd, Hollie Boyd, Kim Boyd, LaKeisha Boyd, and LaTreva Boyd; great-grandchild: Jewel Rayne Boyd; as well as many other loving family members and friends left to cherish his memory.

Services will be held on Thursday, September 17, at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 11-noon. Funeral Service will follow at noon. He will be laid to rest at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
