Jen was born in Helena, Montana to Maurice and Thelma Dineen, and was the middle child of three girls. She graduated from Helena High School, and went on to receive a degree from Carroll College in Nursing. She also received her master’s degree while teaching at the University of Utah. She both taught and practiced as a surgical nurse, and later developed a specialty in psych nursing. She was proud to be a nurse her whole life.
She was married to Donald (Don) Gill for 54 years. They had resided in north Texas, Plano and later McKinney, for almost 40 years. She and Don raised two children, John and Joe, and were exemplary role models as loving and caring parents. Jen enjoyed being involved in her kids’ schools, and was an avid cheerleader for her boys during the years they participated in multiple sports. She was a voracious reader, and loved her crossword puzzles and playing solitaire. She was also a loyal Dallas Stars fan. After a long career as a nurse, she retired to enjoy a simple life with her husband. On October 12th, 2016, after a 16-year battle with cancer, Don passed away. During that time, Jen had tirelessly taken care of him, never complaining, and with a devotion that was inspirational.
Jen will always be remembered as the most selfless and caring human being. She dedicated her life to the well-being of her husband, her kids, her family, and all her many friends. She had a life well lived and was deeply loved by so many. She had lived her purpose. She was special.
