Funeral: Noon Thursday at Crossroads Family Church, 5001 South Freeway, Fort Worth, 76115. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church.
He married Martha Rose Griffin on Easter Sunday 61 years ago. He was the founder and owner of Gene's Bus Repair & Charter in Burleson since 1983. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. He graduated from Texas A&M University and was a retired diesel shop high school teacher at Trimble Technical High School in Fort Worth.
He was a man of strong faith and values who was always there for those who needed help. It might have been spiritually, physically or emotionally. His life was a testimony of kindness and goodness and generosity. We will miss him as well as so many others who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his brother, B.D. Griffin Jr.; father, Buell Dean Griffin Sr.; and mother, Mary Mildred Griffin.
Survivors: Children, Mark Griffin and wife, Pam, Rita Smith and husband, Bobby, and David Griffin and wife, Kelly; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
