The Life of Our Angel
Flossie Lorine Birdow was born September 20, 1944, in Fairfield, TX to Curtis and Earlie Davis. She lived in Midlothian until the marriage of Ell B. Birdow Jr. and moved to Fort Worth TX. Her passion was to cook and when she cooked, she wanted it to be big. We have never seen her cook for one person. It was just hard for her, because she always said, “one of my kids, grandkids, or somebody will stop by and eat”. Believe it happened every time she said it. When she said I am cooking, and I want all my kids to come she would cook the entire meal. The meats, vegetables, desserts, and that special Grandmama Kool-aide that only she could make. Mama made sure she took out time to spend with all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. Being with her family was really important to her. She assigned a task for everyone in her family. If she assigned, you a task that is meant for you to not give it to someone else. We all knew our jobs and took them very seriously. Mom loved to fish, go on trips with all her children, and sit on Sans back patio. We also knew when we were going out together, she made sure she inspected what we were wearing. It had to be a certain outfit, hair styles had to be a certain way, and she didn’t like you to be late. (yes, today we dress the way you would have wanted us to). She touched so many people’s lives and took care of anyone that needed her help. Most times when people came by to see her after the first time, by the time they left they were calling her mama. She nutrient anyone who came through her door. She was an exceptional mom and grandma to everyone, not just her crew. Mom attended the Greater Harvest COGIC under the leadership of Supt. W. G. Richard for over 30 years. After his death in 2007, she then became a member of The Solid Rock Ministries, under the leadership of Pastor Gary E. Johnson. She was named the mother of the church and played her part well.
She gained her wings and joined her parents Curtis & Earlie Davis, her sons Ell B. Birdow III, and Jerome Birdow, her husband Rev. Ell B. Birdow Jr, her brother Claudine Davis, her sisters Mattie Parks and Noble Lee Davis, and a friend she loved so much Miss. Lela Wright.
She left behind her children to carry out her Legacy: 2 sons, Ervin Bryant (Jackie), Antonio Birdow (Tejuana), 2 Daughters Sandra Bryant, Tammy Birdow (Gary). 16 Grandchildren: Quamecia Brown, Myron Brown Jr (Emily), Jerome Birdow (Amber), Jermie Deckard Sr, Jessie Deckard Jr (Tie), Ervin Bryant Jr, Quincey Bryant, Jordyn Birdow, Antonio Birdow Jr, Karson Birdow, Porsha Clark, De Zundrae Clark, Anthony Michael Birdow, Jy’Quaveon Smith, Ja’Quez Smith, and Emari Smith. 8 Great-Grandchildren: Ke Andrea Johnson, Jermie Deckard Jr, Aiden Deckard, Camden Deckard, Jessie Deckard III, Legend Deckard, Amari & Bellany.1 special Great-Great Grandchild: Grayson Washington. 2 sisters: Bertha B.
