Essie Lorene Watson

Essie was born March 21, 1924, in Wood County to Robert and Yuba Pruitt and was one of nine siblings. She was raised in Wood County around the Fruitvale/Canton area. She married Albert Watson on Dec. 24, 1941, and they relocated to Southside of Fort Worth in 1946. She retired from Champion Dairy Pack in Fort Worth after 35 years.

Essie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Jennette Dillard and Winnie Hampton; and brother, Lonnie Pruitt.

Survivors: Sons, Shelby Watson and wife, Edna, of Fort Worth and Billy Watson and wife, Linda, of Joshua; grandchildren, Shelly McCarty and husband, Randy, of Tennessee, Eddy Watson and wife, Robin, of Crowley, Stephen Watson of Joshua, Lisa Carlson of Devine, and Stephanie Clark and husband, Thomas, of Godley; great-grandchildren, Michael Graves, Megan Watson, Anna Hefler, Chelsee Clark and Blake Clark; great-great-grandchildren, Lucas Graves, Landon Graves and Cain Rank; sisters, Margaret Edgar of Burleson, Margie Farmer of Lousiana and Betty Scott of Dallas; brothers, Johnny Pruitt and wife, Mary, of Van, and Tommy Pruitt and wife, Debra, of Joshua; and numerous nieces and nephews.
