Sweet memories of the lovely lady and wife of Stanley Brown, who baptized me at the Birdville Baptist Church when I was 7 years old.  That was 69 years ago.  I baby sat their children.  Mrs. Brown was the dearest lady and I shall always remember her twinkling eyes, infectious smile, and her kindness she showed to everyone. I never met Mrs. Brown but served in the U.S. Army with her son David. I can say that it was an honor to serve with someone like Dave who comes from such a great family.

We have wonderful memories of Brother and Mrs. Brown.  He baptised our three children at Handley Baptist in the sixties. The Browns both were perfect examples that there is no conflict in being spiritual and having an excellent sense of humor.  Although we moved from Handley forty years ago, our entire family still treasures the years we had with them. There will never be another couple like them.

I am the son-in-law of Brother Reece L. Williams and his wife Ruth A. Williams. Brother Brown was responsible for Reece becoming an active christian at Birdville Baptist Church. Working together, they created four new mission churches through Birdville. My wife and I were married at Birdville Baptist in February, 1949, by Brother Brown. In 1957 Brother Brown helped us adopt our first son, David Reece Jack. We have kept in touch through Christmas Cards each year. Brother Brown was going to lead the service when we repeated our vows in February 1999, but he passed away about two weeks before the service was to be held. My wife, Mildred Elaine, passed away in January 2011. The Brown family means a lot to our family. God Bless you all,

I grew up in Handley Baptist Church with Bro. and Mrs. Brown...Have such fond memories of them. She was a friendly, sweet lady. My heartfelt condolences to the family.

Mrs. Brown will always live in my memory as a charming lady who loved the Lord.  She continued serving Him as a Sunday School teacher well beyond the age many would say it is time to slow down - but her Lord directed her to continue to teach and she was obedient.  That sums it best - she was a loving mother, a dear wife to her husband and an obedient servant to God.

Her smile was infectious and when her eyes twinkled when she played her jokes.  She is going to be missed.

Mrs. Brown will always be my mother-away-from-home. I was eight when I met the Brown family and her daughter G'Nelle.G'Nelle has been my best friend for all these years. I will truly miss my mother-away-from-home. Ms. Brown loved going to Youth Camp. Thanks for the all the good years... we are all blessed knowing this wonderful lady.

 I have know Mrs Brown thru my mother Flora Bell Close most of my life. She was an amazing woman, really beautiful, kind and inspiring. I am so pleased to have known her and cherish our visits.
