Elva was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on December 12, 1943 to parents Will and Thelma Roe. She had four siblings; Billy Wayne Roe, Bobby Ray Roe, Jacky Leon Roe and half-brother J.R. Roe. Elva graduated from Northside High School where she played tennis and developed life-long friendships.
Elva married Donald Ray Dean on May 19, 1968. She worked with Don at his accounting firm until his passing in 2004. Elva cared for Don when he was diagnosed with ALS. She was blessed with two daughters, Julie and Shelley.
Elva had a passion for piano, sewing, drawing and reading. Elva enjoyed bird watching and feeding the ducks at the pond near her home. Her favorite vacation trips were Yellowstone National Park & Galveston. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her husband and daughters and her grandchildren were the light of her life.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Burleson, Texas and was baptized in August of 1952 at nine years old. Her favorite hymns were "Lily of the Valley" and "I'll fly Away". Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16. Elva was greatly loved by her family and her passing has left a void that cannot be filled.
Elva was preceded in death by her husband Donald Dean; parents, Will & Thelma Roe; brothers Jacky Roe, Bill Roe, and half-brother J.R. Roe. She is survived by daughters Julie Meador of Crowley, Shelley Vanover & husband Ken of Burleson; grandchildren, Christopher Meador, Katelyn Vanover & William Vanover; brother Bobby Roe & wife Glenda of Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Elva will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134. A graveside service will occur Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
