Elizabeth Rivers

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. (Psalm 19:14) Elizabeth Woods was born December 24, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York to the late John Arthur and Annie Mae Woods. Elizabeth departed this life on September 15, 2016. At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. Betty, as we call her, was a caring and loving person………and she was loved by all. Elizabeth, known as “Betty”, worked for the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital until she retired. She was united in Holy Matrimony on June 13, 1969 to Harold Rivers. In this union, they were blessed with two sons, Kevin and Andre. Elizabeth was one of nine siblings, and preceded in death by six. Elizabeth “Betty” leave to cherish her memories, two sons; Kevin, Andre and his wife Nicole, three grandchildren; Zakkiyya, Amira, and Aminah; one brother, Larry; one sister, Arlene; sister-in-law; Kathleen, and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and caring friends. God saw the road getting rough and the hills too hard to climb, so He gently closed Elizebeth “Betty’s” eyes and whispered, “PEACE BE THINE, COME HOME”.
