Edward (Edd) Ellis Evans went to be with the Lord October 26, 2017. Service: 10 am Wednesday November 1, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Crowley. Visitation: 4 pm to 7 pm Tuesday October 31, at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Interment: DFW National Cemetery. Graduated from Azle High School , Hardin Simmons University , Midwestern Theological Seminary and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Retired Southern Baptist minister after 45 years and a retired Navy Chaplain with 27 years of service. Edd married Velda Vee McHaney in 1951. He is proceeded in death by parents, Printus Clifford Evans and Opal Lee (Simpson) Evans; daughter, Rose Annette (Evans) Cherry; brother, W.D. Evans; and son-in-law, Carroll Bryant. Edd is survived by his wife, 4 daughters ; Ellen Lhota and husband Bob, Nena Bryant, Bette Greenwood and husband Dale and Veda Ragsdill; son-in-law Doug Cherry; 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Willadean Ball and Ida Lou Ownby.
