She was born in Glen Rose in December 1926 to Vera and Daniel Wheatley and was brought up in Brazos Point, attending Eulogy schools. In 1942 she married Hugh Rich and they were together for 65 years until his death in 2007. They lived in Morgan, Waco, Burleson and Fort Worth and were members of Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson. Edith worked all her life to support her family, first at Williamson Dickie, then at General Dynamics.
Survivors: Teresa Howe and husband, Richard, of Aledo, Jackie Kubiak and husband, Kenneth, of Houston, and Harold Rich of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Norma Jean Cox of Honey Grove and Billie Bennett of Millsap.
