

In his childhood, he lived in Iowa, Washington, California, and Oklahoma. In 1956 he moved to Chicago for work and started working for the post office. He was drafted into the Army in 1962. He moved to Texas in 1967 and became a pastor and graduated from Midwestern State University. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, schoolteacher, pastor, church planter, elder, postman, and rancher. He gave his life to God at age 21 and had a heart for ministry throughout his life. He retired from the United States Post Office after 40 years. He married Joan Waits Adams on May 21, 2011, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Hodgson; brothers, Bennie Hodgson, and Dean Hodgson; sisters, Alma Hodgson, and Avis Arlene Hollars.
Don was a kind and loving man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Hodgson; daughter, Karen Prince and husband Kenny Prince; step-sons Terry Adams, Timothy Adams and wife Sandy; step-daughter Johna Phillips and husband Keith; brother, Gary Hodgson and wife Ruth; sisters, Lynn O’Brian and husband Lee, and Ann Wesson and husband Wes; grandchildren, Kristopher Prince and wife Ashley, Kory Prince and wife Breanna, Kolton Prince and wife Katie, Dakota Mabry and husband Joey, Jeremiah Adams, Jared Adams, Skyla Adams, Ryan Geeslin and Mason Geeslin; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Aniston and Lane Prince and Connor Mabry; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends between 10 and 11 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023, at The Pentecostals of Fort Worth, 10264 Westpoint Blvd. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Watts, pastor of The Pentecostals of Fort Worth, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, 7301 E. Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth.
Pallbearers will be Kristopher Prince, Kory Prince, Kolton Prince, Jeremiah Adams, Jared Adams, and Ryan Geeslin.
