Donald Don D. Couch

Don was in education literally his entire life. He grew up living in the Fort Worth ISD’s Alexander Hogg Elem. where his father was custodian. Don attended TCU, eventually earning an M.Ed. He was a teacher and principal at Oakhurst Elem., later moving to David K. Sellars. Upon retirement, Don supervised student teachers for UTA, culminating in a total of 47 years working in public education.

Don was very active in professional principal organizations from the local to the national level, serving as local, state and regional president. He was the recipient of numerous outstanding principal awards and recognitions.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to both Mission Hospice and Horizon Bay caregivers for their incredible love and support.

Don is survived by his wife of 61 years, LeeOra; son Kent Couch, and wife Becky; daughter Donna Hogard, and husband Chuck; four grandchildren – Jeff Couch and wife, Whitney, Erin Couch, Leah Collum and Lacy Collum and one greatgrandson, Tyler Couch.
