Don was born on September 30, 1941 in Lee’s Summit Missouri to Harvey E. Renken and Anna E. Renken. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in both the US Air Force and the US Navy. He received an accommodation for bravery in Danang. His bravery restored the line of communication as he ran out into the middle of the bombing. After serving his country he was first hired at the Kansas City Leads plant. He was a former committeeman and a member of the UAW. He later became a Journeyman Millwright for General motors at GMSPO Fort Worth and Alliance for 30+ years. Don has 2 children. A son and a daughter, Ryan Renken, and Le Anna Martin (Renken)
Above all else, Don had a passion for being a mechanic, artist, and photographer. He had an infectious smile, a joking personality, and truly loved to have fun. He considered himself a jack of all trades and a master of all. There really wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. Don never met a stranger and was always ready to help someone in need. He loved sports of all kinds. His hobbies included fishing, boating and dancing. He like to have a great time everywhere he went.
Don was preceded in death by his Father Harvey E Renken, his mother Anna E Renken.
He is survived by his wife Mary O Renken, his sister Kae Titus, his children Ryan and Crystal Renken, Michael & Le Anna Martin, his granddaughter Danica Renken, his nephew (son) Eddie Titus, 2 sisters in laws, 2 brother in laws, and many nieces and nephews. All who were very loved. A graveside service will be held:
