Deborah Yvonne Evans-Hatcher

Deborah Yvonne Evans-Hatcher was born in May of 1952 to Milton & Annie Mae Evans. She was raised in Waco, Texas. Deborah graduated from A.J. Moore High School in 1971. A few years later Deborah moved to Los Angeles, California. It was there she raised her two daughters, Dashanna & Starr. During this same time in her life Deborah found a new and exciting love for the Lord and she joined West Angeles Church of God in Christ. She would remain a long standing member until the time of her departure from this earth.

Deborah became employed with Lockheed Martin Aerospace as an airplane mechanic. Her colleagues have expressed to her family that Deborah was one of the best mechanics who ever touched an airplane. As her career evolved and her life flourished, Deborah met and married Christopher Hatcher in Houston.

She leaves her memory in the hearts of: Christopher Hatcher, daughters, Dashanna Dujuan Evans of Rialto, Starr Evans of Dallas, sisters Dorathy Long of Waco, Shirley Grays (AL), Annie Evans of Fort Worth, & Margaret Grays of Los Angeles, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Special Message

Deborah will always be the love of our hearts. We will keep her alive in our minds and spirit. We love our mother dearly and she was aware of our love for her. We treated her with kindness, appreciation, and loyalty, she was our queen. We will forever carry her legacy inside each of us. She did not lose the breast cancer battle, she simply went to a place where the cancer was no longer able to inflict any more pain or suffering on her. A place we are all intended to go one day. Breast cancer did not define her; she bravely went about her job, church, traveling, enjoying family company, friends, and living life, until God called her home. She carried a warm smile and would wish her survivors to continue to travel, to love, to laugh, to be happy, and most of all to continue to live their lives.
