David Bailey Wilbur was a father, husband, and animal lover. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey in 1929 to Elliot and Mable Wilbur. He married his wife Marlene Clark in 1959. She passed in 2006. He is survived by four children: Patricia Wilbur, David Scott Wilbur, Michael Wilbur and Diana Wilbur.
David worked on the railroad before he was a reservist in the army and then the National Guard of New Jersey. He worked as a chef at the playboy resort in Vernon, NJ until it closed. He then worked at the Methodist Manor until it closed. He was a chef at a NJ campground until his wife died. He then moved to Texas to be near his oldest daughter, Patricia.
He loved history, especially military history, collecting stamps, Star Trek, Amateur radio, jigsaw puzzles, and cooking. He loved westerns and Jim Nabors as a singer in the Sons of The Pioneers. He was also a fan of chess. He had a quirky sense of humor that was shown by his love of Monty Python and Benny Hill. He loved animals as he had a great many grand dogs and grand cats, whom he loved effortlessly.
