Darryl Wayne Tidwell

Darryl Wayne Tidwell, 49, of Irving, Texas, passed away on December 25, 2023. He was born on June 26, 1974, in Houston, Texas. Darryl's good humor and generous spirit touched everyone he met. Always ready to try new things, Darryl never let life's challenges hold him back. At a young age, he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and did not let it dampen his spirit and desire for life’s adventures. After losing his eyesight in his early twenties, he continued to work hard to pursue higher education and enjoyed other passions, such as working on cars, woodworking, and leather craft. He also loved movies, music, shooting guns and traveling.

Darryl is survived by his mother, Jessie Pauline Reagan; his father and stepmother, Calvin Ray Tidwell and Mavon; his brother and sister-in-law, Merrill Marshall Tidwell and Donna; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert Paul Tidwell and Andrea; his brother, Joseph Craig Tidwell; his brother and sister-in-law, Christopher Jacob Tidwell and Crystal; nephews, nieces, and many cherished friends who are like family. He was preceded in death by his beloved service dog, Pammy.

Darryl attended Grand Prairie High School and later pursued higher education at Stephen F. Austin University. He was a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst, Texas, where he found a sense of community and peace.

A celebration of Darryl’s life will be held on Friday, January 5th 2024, at 2:00pm at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel, located at 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Watauga, Texas 76148.
