She loved gardening, camping, canoeing, reading and people. She was known as Grandma to everyone. If you knew her longer than 5 minutes you were soon to gain another grandmother. She served in many places at her church and senior citizens center. She was a master gardener, recognized by the mayor, and she brought life and beauty wherever she went. She retired from her favorite job in the gardening department at Lowes. Darlene loved to travel and take her family on many adventures. Her home was never empty, and her famous cookies made Christmas traditions in homes all over. Grandma never backed down on something she believed in, including the people she loved. Darlene had a family and marriage people can only dream about. She will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at Crosswalk Church 2601 Thomas Rd Haltom City, TX 76117 on Saturday, June 10th at 3:00 PM In lieu of cut flowers please send a potted plant that reminds you of her to keep alive as we all know she never liked cut flowers.
