A full military service will be held on October 18, 2022, at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy Dallas TX 75211, at 1030 am. A small family gathering will be held after services.
Curtis was born in West Helena, Arkansas on June 7, 1931. Curtis joined the Air Force in 1950 and was married to Elizabeth Ann Hill in 1952 while stationed at Burtonwood AFB, England. While still stationed in England in 1953 they had their first child Margaret. They were then transferred to Aberdeen, Maryland in 1956 where they had their first son Kenneth. In 1960 Curtis was transferred to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska where in 1961 their 3rd child Stephen was born. Curtis retired from the Air Force in 1971 as a tech sergeant, and became a Pentecostal minister in Chillicothe, Missouri. He also attended trade school where he learned carpentry and HVAC trades.
Curtis is survived by his 3 children, Margaret Hoien and her husband David, Kenneth Horne and his wife Nilia, and Stephen Horne and his wife Mary Lou, 6 Grandchildren, 3 step Grandchildren, 12 great Grandchildren, 2 great great Grandchildren, and his brother Jim of Pennsylvania.
