Craig received B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas, and M.S. in Gerontology from the University of North Texas. After UNT, Craig spent a year in Austin with Americorps/VISTA assisting the homeless. Most of his job experience was at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth where he served as a Patient Advocate. Later his entrepreneurial spirit encouraged him to raise sustainable Kunekune pigs when he owned Lonesome Star Farms. Later he freelanced as a writer and enjoyed travelling, but above any occupation or interest his first love was always for his two girls, Hannah and Rebekah.
Craig was preceded in death by his mother, Angela Pomykal Mansfield and sister, Leigh Ann Pomykal.
He was survived by his loving daughters, Hannah and Rebekah Pomykal; father, Norman Pomykal and Bettye Pomykal; stepfather, Frank Mansfield (who recently passed away); brothers, Keith Pomykal, Curtis Pomykal; step brothers, Donny Teis, Larry Teis, David Teis, Gerard Mansfield; many loving cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to AmeriCorps/VISTA General Fund.
