Chester Ben Burks

Chester B Burks was born October 26, 1950 to the Union of Elvin and Vernett Burks. He accepted Christ at an early age.

He received his education in Dermott, Arkansas and completed his high school education at Chicot County High school.

Chester served in the U.S. army in 1969 and honorably discharged in 1971.

He was employed by A. 0. Smith (Tower Automotive) as a welder for 32 years where he retired in 2005. Chester met his wife Marcia Slade in 1976 in Milwaukee WI and to that union, was blessed with 2 sons. Chester's personal hobbies were fishing, barbecuing, hunting, gardening, working on cars and making his grandchildren happy by keeping a pocket full of candy.

Chester Burks departed this life on October 3, 2022. He was preceded in death by both parents Elvin and Vernett Burks.

Chester leaves to mourn, his wife Marcia Burks, one daughter Larissa Johnson (Sacramento, California}, two sons ,Terrance Slade and Jalen Burks both from Fort Worth, TX. Two stepsons Gregory Slade and Ricky Slade from Arlington Tx. 21 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. 3 brothers, Elvin Burks Jr. from Garland TX, Rev. Jimmy Burks (Cheryl) from Brown deer WI, Earnest Ray Burks from North Carolina, 4 sisters, Delores Franklin (Jerry} McGehee, Arkansas, Linda Armstrong (Simmie}, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Velma K'nuckles, Little Rock Arkansas, Darlene Knighten (Reginald}, A host of nieces and nephews,

family and friends.
