Carolyn Sue (Kious) Miller was born April 23, 1945, in Greenville, Illinois. She entered enteral life on May 12, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 77. Carolyn was the fourth child (second daughter) of Richard Sylvester Kious and Jewell Agnes (Spencer) Kious. On July 3, 1965, she married Wayne Lee Miller of Mountain View, Missouri. They were together 36 years prior to Wayne’s passing in 2001. This union produced three daughters: Dawn Renee’, Gina Dail, and Lisa Sue.
As a child, Carolyn began playing piano and organ. Music became her great passion. She was often requested to play at weddings of family and friends. She also learned to play the banjo. She and Wayne would play along with Wayne’s parents at family gatherings/picnics. Carolyn enjoyed all genres of music from classical (Bach, Beethoven, Mozart) to Elvis, John Denver, Neil Diamond, and everything in between. She passed this appreciation of music onto her children. Carolyn also enjoyed reading, sewing, and crocheting.
Once Lisa entered grade school, Carolyn desired to be a medical assistant. She received her Certification and began working in doctors’ offices from the mid-1970’s until 1990. When Wayne became ill, she began working as a front office receptionist until she retired. In 2011, she moved to Mountain View, Missouri. There, she volunteered for the local hospital axillary, assisting in their thrift store and/or sitting with patients in the hospital. She also attended First Baptist Church of Mountain View.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents, brothers Freeman, William and Frank, sister Judy Grannemann and in-laws Chester and Eva Grace Miller.
