Carolyn Ruth Evans Johnson, born January 31, 1951, in Upshur County to the Parents of James B. Evans, Sr. and Argie M. Frazier Evans. She grew up in Big Sandy, Texas. She Graduated from Big Sandy High School in The Class of 1968. She married Carl Johnson and to that union were born two children, Carla Johnson and Kelly Johnson. Carolyn moved to Fort Worth, Texas and was Baptized and added to the Leuda Street Church Of Christ under The Leadership of Bro Al Broughton. She worked in Fort Worth, Texas in Electronic for Boeing Electronics and R-Tech Electrics. When she moved back home she worked at Lockheed Martin(General Dynamics) Corporation until her Retirement in 2013. After moving back home she became a member of Lyles Street Church Of Christ under the Leadership of Bro. Homer Davis, she was a faithful member until her health begin to decline.
Carolyn loved spending time at her home gardening in her yard and home decorating, working where ever she could to help friends and family. Carolyn never met a stranger and she loved her family. She loved spending time with her grandkids. She always found time to read the Bible cover to cover. She will be remembered for her unbeatable strength, beauty, hard work and her willingness to love, support and guide her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister until her passing. Preceding her in death are her parents, James B. Evans, Sr. and Argie M. Evans. She met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on a glorious Sunday Evening about 6:27 pm surrounded by her close family, August 7, 2022. Carolyn’s legacy and spirit will live on through the lives of her children, Carla R. Johnson Jones and husband Cedrick Jones of Frisco, Texas; Kelly Johnson and wife Sandy Johnson of Keller, Texas; grandchildren, Evan Jones, Coby Johnson, Courtney Johnson and Arion Joubert and husband Chris; brother, James Evans, Jr. and wife Diane Evans of Fort Worth, Tx.; sisters, Dorothy Evans of Dallas, Texas., Betty Baker and husband Dwight Baker of Tyler, Texas. and Glenda Evans of Big Sandy, Texas.; special cousin, Sarah Young of Dallas, Texas.; aunts, Winnie Frances of Fort Worth, Texas, Ruby Frazier of Kansas City, Kansas and Bobbie Tolliver of Appleton, WI.; a host of special nephews, nieces, and a host of cousins and many relatives and friends.
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free. I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all.
