Missionary Carol Willis Williams Nickles of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at the age of seventy- four.
Born on February 9, 1950, Carol was the daughter of William Willis and Frances Washington. She graduated from IM Terrell High School and later attended vocational schools to master auto mechanics and other technical skills, which led to a successful career. Carol retired from Lockheed Martin after 25 years as an inspector for the F-16 Fighting Falcon.
From an early age, Carol developed a strong personal relationship with the Lord. She was a devoted member of the Greater Progressive Church of God in Christ under Bishop J.L. Johnson for over 40 years and later supported her son, Minister Jason L. Williams, at the Holy United Fellowship Church
Carol cherished her missionary work and embraced life's challenges with faith and resilience, always offering words of encouragement. She was a passionate speaker for the Lord, attending several state conferences to share her love for her faith.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, William Willis and Frances Washington Conley-Herd; grandmother, Arlene Rhodes; sister, Rena Turner, brother, Leroy Conley; brother-in-law, James Turner. Her legacy lives on through her children, Anthony Willis (Tracy Willis) and Jason Williams (Marcia Williams);
grandson, Michael Bobo; granddaughters, Megan and McKenzy Cordero; sister, Frances Conley; brother, Marvin Conley; and her faithful cousins, Brenda King and Juanita Briggs.
Known as Grandma Carol, she is also remembered by her nieces and nephews, Adrienne Chilton (Donald), Vanessa Williams, John Henry Calhoun, Cedric Conley Sr. (Demetria), Drayon Conley and great-grandchildren, Mikayla Langley, Sincere Bobo, Kayden Williams, and Preston Wells, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
