Bobby Joe Morris was born in Venus, Texas on September 1, 1927, the first son of Robert Verne and Myrtle (Leslie) Morris. He was welcomed home with God on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the age of 96 years, 8 months, and 7 days.
Bob grew up on the family farm South of Venus where he attended Cotton Valley School and later graduated from Alvarado High School. He and Nancy Ann Brown were married in Venus, Texas on July 9, 1950. At the time of Bob’s death, he and Nancy had shared 74 years together. Bob and Nancy made their home in Fort Worth, Texas where they raised three children, Wayne, Angie, and Kevin. Bob was employed by what is today, Lockheed Martin, for 45 years, retiring in 1994. In addition to his career at Lockheed, Bob cut hair as the “Saturday Clipper” with Niley Dees Barbershop. Following his retirement, he and Nancy relocated to Aledo, Texas, where he lived until the time of his death.
Bob Morris was a loving husband and father, a loyal friend and one who never met a stranger. He was a lifelong Democrat in the best sense of that politic, a strong union man and member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers for 45 years. Bob was a proud veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp while stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. He was tireless in his labor but always fun loving. He enjoyed good music, travel, adventure, and was especially fond of the sea. Bob was a grateful and devoted Christian who lived out his faith through the life and mission of Southwayside Baptist Church since 1955.
Bob Morris is survived by his wife, Nancy, of the home. By three children: Wayne and his wife, Alicia, Angela Bradshaw and her husband, Ricky, Kevin and his wife, Lisa. He is survived by eight grandchildren: Zerah Morris, Hannah Martin, Abby Currie, Stephany Bradshaw, Makenzie Wilkinson, Zachary Russell, Graydon Morris, Gracie Morris and spouses. Bob has nine great grandchildren: Matilyn, Brandon, Haley, Autumn, Macy, Rylie, Olin and Kathryn; and one great great grandson, Liam Cho.
Bob Morris was preceded in death by his parents, by two brothers: Archie and Ronald Morris, and a great grandson, Zakery Peckinpaugh.
