Bobbie Lee Armstrong was loved greatly as a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. God held his hand as he entered eternity on December 23, 2020, at his home surrounded by family. We will celebrate his life on Monday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service preceded by a 10:00 a.m. visitation at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel and Cemetery in Fort Worth Texas.
Bob was one of eleven children born to Robert Lee Armstrong and Artie Adalie Walker Armstrong on July 9, 1935, in Graham Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sisters; Mavis Armstrong, Barbara Smith, Brothers; Dean Armstrong, Billy Armstrong, and Charles Armstrong. He is survived by Brothers; Von Armstrong of White Settlement, Texas, Richard Armstrong of Phoenix, Arizona, Ronnie Armstrong of Odessa, Texas, Sisters; Charlotte Hunt of Fort Worth, Texas, and Nedra Oliver of Graham, Texas and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Bob began his professional career in Midland Texas with West Texas Brick and Tile. Looking for a better life he moved his family to Fort Worth, Texas in 1968. He was always a very independent man with an extraordinarily strong work ethic that served him well his entire life. After moving to Fort Worth, he built a remarkably successful business as a self-employed carpenter and builder that specialized in installing commercial drywall and ceiling grid systems in the DFW commercial sector until his retirement in 2010. He had many joys in his life, the greatest of which was spending time with family and friends, especially his loyal and incredibly special dogs Flash and Angel. He loved to work in his yard, to plant trees and shrubs, and also enjoyed gardening.
He made many friends while working as a volunteer for the Meadowbrook Senior Services Center in East Fort Worth serving and delivering food. He was known as “Bob the Builder” because he could build anything including designing and building doll houses and castles for his granddaughter and great-grandchildren. He loved to work with his hands and would often remind family and friends that he and Jesus were both carpenters.
Blessed with treasured memories of him are: Wife; Christine Armstrong; Sons; Randy Armstrong and wife, Sherrie, of Fort Worth, TX, Ross Armstrong and wife, Wendy, of Aledo, TX, Rick Armstrong, of White Settlement, TX, Daughter; Gina Pittington and husband, Mike, of Fort Worth, TX , Son; Larry Jackson, and wife Desiree, of Miami, Florida; Grandchildren; Derek Armstrong and wife, Claire, of Weatherford, TX, Kylee Velarde and husband, Ian, of Weatherford, TX, Lance Armstrong of Fort Worth, TX, Robert Puntenney Jr. of Fort Worth, TX, Cole Jackson of Fort Worth, TX, Logan Armstrong and wife, Lyndi, of Granbury, TX, Chase Armstrong of Fort Worth, TX, Landry Armstrong of Aledo, TX, Sarney George of Fort Worth, TX, and Natalie George, of Fort Worth, TX, great-grandchildren; Grant McGuffey, Baylee Velarde, Brinlee Velarde, Blayze Velarde, and Nixon Armstrong.
