Sweet Billie Beth, I just heard of your passing today. I am so sad but so happy you are reunited with Mother and Daddy.  What a great day that must have been. 

I worked with Billie Beth for almost two decades on DRT jewelry.  I considered her a dear friend.  I will miss our lunches; I’ll miss hearing DRT gossip ;) ; I’ll miss hearing her stories of East Texas visiting Bob, who she loves dearly.  Most of all I’ll miss her spunk and her tell it like it is attitude.  That’s rare in a woman, still today. She was a GEM. I always wished I’d known her when she was a working gal.  It had to have been a hoot to work with her.   

Rest well BBM. All my love and thanks for your friendship. 

I only learned of Billie Beth's passing today.   She was a good friend and a great lady.  I lost touch with her a couple of years ago but I thought of her often.  We were only friends for the last  20 or so years but she filled me in on the earlier years of her life.  I also knew her mother who she took care of until she passed.  She will be truly missed.


Billie Beth was a role model of faithful service. She was smiling and upbeat each time I saw her.  Her willingness to share her memories and knowledge was a hallmark and will be missed.

What a  beautiful lady, so full knowledge and life, she will always remind me how we can do anything we want to 

Will miss Billie Beth. She was sweet and kind. What history she shared. She sponsored me to join several organizations.

The United Daughters of the Confederacy is a  better organization for having Billie Beth  as a member. Her energy was boundless and her contributions were endless; what a gal! May God comfort her family and many friends.

I was BIllie Beths hairdresser for 45 years. She was a delightful lady very busy in the church. She followed her mother in the DRT, DAR, snd the UDC among others. She was passionate about any and all things that she was in. 
I am an artist and almost everything I was doing ( painting a picture) or the last few years making 
Cards and journals, Billie Beth was so happy to see what I was into. She was pleased to see my work and at times would even give me advice
On a piece I was working on. I was happy to comply. Billie Beth was so intelligent and interesting to talk to. I enjoyed her so much and loved her. Every Friday there is a missing piece in my schedule and in my life. Penny McCoy

Billie Beth was a special part of WBAP-TV-Radio and later KXAS-TV.  I remember her working in the traffic department for many years paying close attention to work that kept on the air day-after-day.  In 1987, we self-published an employee cook book titled “A Bite Out of Broadcasting.”  It still serves our household to this day and features such Billie Beth Moore “specials” like sour milk hot biscuits, red-eye gravy and cheese grits.  Billie Beth was a dedicated, long-serving employee and a valued member of the WBAP/KXAS family.  She will be missed.

Billie Beth was the dearest and sweetest lady I’ve known in the last 15 years, and it was my privilege to have known her.  I adored her, and I know everyone else did as well.  So many of us were jealous of her smile, and she never looked a day over 70 years old. 

She was and uplifting spirit to every DAR meeting and church service she attended and to all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

I remember doing my assessment with Mrs. Billie Beth once she arrived to Ridgmar. She told me all about the organizations she was in and tracing genealogy way back. She LOVED to talk and was so interesting to talk with. 

My condolences and prayers go out to Billie Beth's family. I have so many fond memories of Miss Billie Beth Moore that there isn't enough space here to cover them.  I first met Billie Beth when she was the official greeter at a ceremony on January 19, 2014. I had traded emails with a couple of chapter members, but Billie Beth put a face on the organization. As an African American woman trying to join the United Daughters of the Confederacy, I wasn't sure how I would be received, but when I drove up to Birdville Cemetery and was greeted by Billie Beth's smiling face, I knew it would be okay. I knew I would be accepted. Her smile could light up a room, and anyone who knew her was a better person for having known her. She inspired everyone around her and led by example, and her passing leaves a hole in our organization that can never be filled. Rest in Peace my Southern Sister. You are loved and you are missed.

I’m saddened by the death of Billie Beth. I knew her for almost 40 years. Always a smile and loved to make people laugh and loved to read poems. UDC has lost another great Southern Lady. 

I feel "we was robbed."  Mostly of Billie Beth's presence, but also because we were not able to celebrate her 90th birthday with her in November because of the pandemic.  But also because some of us didn't know her full story of those 90 years.  Where did she receive her education?  What were her work experiences?  What were her numerous achievements?  We know she wrote a rough draft of her obituary which I'm sure contained a lot of that information from her  own outline of her life.  After all when you've lived 90 years, there is a lot to tell.  I thank the Walters cousins in Nacogdoches whom she loved for seeing to it Billie Beth is honored Wednesday.  It would be an additional gift to the lineage groups she was a part of  to see her own brief biography of her life.  I hope they will allow us to see it.  I knew her for only 12 years, but she was a delightful, smiling, unique personality.  Rest in peace, Billie Beth.  You are missed.

Billie Beth was a dedicated member of the West Meadowbrook Neighborhood Association for decades. Her bright spirit and inquisitive mind will be missed by our group. She always sat on the front row of every meeting and was the person we turned to for invocations. Bless her soul and condolences to the family from a grateful neighborhood.

BILLIE BETH WAS A TRUE SOUTHERN  LADY.  SHE WILL BE MISSED.

She and I took turns playing the piano at Poly Methodist Church MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) and then we found together along years with DAR State Conference and Fall Forum
  She set such a good example of her activities.
I am glad to have had those years together.

We  Texas members United Daughters of the Confederacy will miss our Billie Beth.   She always smiled and made everything joyful.  We loved her.  

Knew both Billie Beth and Velma through DRT and will never forget sweet Velma asking me "you girls look after Billie Beth for me".
Remember, "when you lose some one you love, you gain an Angel you know".  

It was my honor and pleasure to have known Miss Billie Beth as I called her, her spirit was always uplifting. She was a gracious southern woman I will recall and miss fondly.  God Bless you her family and my prayers are with you all. 

Billie Beth you know the UDC and DRT conventions will not be the same with you not there. I have walked many miles with you and Junior and you never seemed to get tired. You will be missed  and I know we all will probably look for you at the next conventions.  Rest in peace.  By the way the picture of you in that blue dress is excellent. 

While I have only known Billie Beth for 10 years, they were filled with lots of joy and love. She, “Junior” and I paged together at UDC Conventions for 5 years. “Junior” even had his own page ribbon every year. She was a ray of sunshine and always had a kind word for one and all. Billie Beth, you will be missed by so many people whose lives you touched. God Bless you sweet lady. ‘Til we met again.

Billie Beth was a great friend and a great lady.  She will surely be missed in UDC circles.  She was always at Conventions.  She worked as a Page for Texas Division conventions long after most members of her age would have "hung it up!"
At Literary Evening she would contribute a beautiful poem or story of Southern history, and was always happy to chair a committee to do the  work of UDC.  Her lovely smile and positive attitude  will be remembered well.

Billie Beth’s flag minutes live on with me in my social studies classroom. I enjoyed her beautiful smile and her dedication to our many chapters as well as admired her dedication to her church. 

Billie Beth and I attended many Conventions and events together. Our best time together was when we visited the Texas State Cemetery in Austin and she showed me her DRT ancestors who were buried there.  She was very proud of her ancestors. We toured the French Legation, the state capital, and the Texas State Archives. 
She talked about the hours and hours she and her mother spent there researching her ancestors. She also loved her UDC. 

Billie Beth - what an unique and FUN person.  Her flag memorials lived on at our chapter.  Always smiling and proud of our history.  Her legacy will live on as someone who made a difference.

For the majority of my years in DRT, my interaction with Billie Beth was at our state conventions, as I lived out of town.  She was always so enthusiastic to be there and serve our organization.  She absolutely glowed the two years she served as Chaplain General.  I’m posting my favorite chapter picture from convention.  We had our serious pose and then were asked to do a fun pose.  Billie Beth really went for it!  Billie Beth was young at ❤️.  My condolences to her family.   She will be greatly missed by her DRT family.

I remember the first time I met Billie Beth I called her Billie and she corrected me. And I also enjoyed her flag momemts at the UDC. Meetings and the times we spent on the phone together sometimes we would talk for and hour Billie Beth will be truly missed I loved her

To Billie Beth's family, I want you to know how very loved and respected Billie Beth was by her many, many friends here in Fort Worth.  She was such a sweet and kind lady, and I loved her very much.   I also want you to know how much she loved you as she often spoke of her cousins.  She will be missed by so many.


I last actually spent time with Billie Beth while we were BOTH on a university campus----she attending a DAR shin-dig and me facilitating a "how-to-teach-reading-to- K-2 students" seminar.

We laughed a lot----because the only way we could FIND each other in the dining hall was to look for the little ole white-haired ladies.  We had a great time together.  

I appreciated her commitment to our family lore.  She was always an eager detective.

Bob, if you need assistance in cleaning out the house, let me know.  If I can, I will be there----work gloves in hand.

I have known Billie Beth and her mother Velma  since my first visit to the chapter in about 1989. She has been such a mainstay of the chapter, I can't imagine how it will be in the future. I always admired her many, many ancestor bars on her ribbon. If she is like me, she will be quite busy in heaven running around to meet all of those ancestors. And best of all, to hear "Well done, my good and faithful servant" from our Lord.  Billie Beth is where she wants to be. Rest, sweet friend. 

Billie Beth was a special lady, an example of a true Texas woman.  She was smart, independent and willing to take on any challenge.  She used a kind word and a positive attitude to accomplish anything she set out to do.  We will miss her.   

A precious lady I have known for over 60 years.  She was always smiling and always said sweet things about everyone.  I miss you Billie Beth and know you are singing with the angels.  What a wonderful Christmas you will have in heaven.

Knowing Billie Beth was a unique experience because she was truly one of a kind.  She was a super spreader of enthusiasm and joy.  It was a real privilege to have known her.  I will remember her with great fondness and will miss her greatly.  I take comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with the parents she held so dear and other loved ones that departed before her.
