FUNERAL – 2 p.m. Saturday, April 1st, 2017 at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX, 76134. Visitation at 1 p.m. prior to the funeral.

Bill was born in Neodesha, Kansas on February 12th, 1922. He was raised by his grandparents, Ann and John Collings. At the age of 13 he was dancing with his grandma doing the Waltz. No only did he love dancing he loved basketball and football and played both in high school.
Bill joined the U.S. Army February 22, 1942 and was assigned as an aircraft and engine mechanic. He received decorations for the American Theater, Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and Philippine Liberation. He finished his time in the military with the 1st Cavalry Division Band where he played the trumpet and was honorably discharged February 5, 1946.
He met the love of his life, Virginia Jane Lowry and married her on March 7, 1943. She preceded him in death on October 15th, 1996. Bill worked for Texas Electric Service Company in Eastland, Ranger and Fort Worth, TX. He loved to dance, play golf and enjoyed hunting and being with good friends.
SURVIVERS – Daughter, Kim McMillen and husband, Larry “Mac” McMillen of Fort Worth, Grandson, Jeremy Donnell of Mt Solon, VA., Best Friend, Ada Dickerson of Fort Worth, Brother-n-law, Bud Lowry and wife Edna of Meadowlakes, TX and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
