Beverly was born on January 2, 1937 to Wayne and Nell Marie Killian. She attended Paschal High School and it was there that she met the love of her life Don Nicholson. Don and Beverly married on August 31, 1956, and subsequently had two children: Steven Wayne in 1957 and Donna Carol in 1961.
Beverly will be best remembered as a woman who loved, followed and served Jesus Christ. In recent years she worshipped and served at Crossmark Church in North Richland Hills, and prior to that Handley Baptist Church in east Fort Worth.
Beverly was a mighty prayer warrior, and a woman of God’s Word. She studied His Word tirelessly as she taught Bible study to both adults and children. She served as a teacher in both her church and Bible Study Fellowship International.
Beverly received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Wesleyan College and her Masters in Reading Readiness from Texas Women’s University.
Beverly taught school for 25 years. She began in the small district of John T. White ISD, and spent the majority of her years teaching in Fort Worth ISD. She taught first grade, fifth grade, and was a reading specialist during her career. She was dearly loved by her fellow teachers, her students, and their parents.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Don Nicholson, son Steven Nicholson, daughter Donna Thomas and husband Rob; grandson Donald Wayne Nicholson, granddaughters Morgan Vinson and husband Brian, Shelby Shelton and husband Andrew, Kasey Thomas, and Emma Joy Thomas; great-grandchildren Campbell Vinson and Zelda Vinson.
Our family will miss her every day, but we rejoice that she is in the presence of her Lord whole in body and spirit!
