Betty was born on June 27, 1927 in Dallas, Texas. Betty was a cheerleader at Crozier Technical High School in Dallas where she then went on to graduate from Texas Wesleyan University. Betty taught at Greenbriar Elementary her entire career. She taught kindergarten as well as 1st & 2nd grade, and she loved every minute of it. In her retirement years, Betty and Waylon took golf and square dance lesson. Betty also took piano lessons.
She was a great cook and she enjoyed gardening and throwing family parties all throughout the year. Betty loved, served and worshipped at Rosemont Church of Christ most of her adult life. In her later years, she came to worship at Altamesa Church of Christ.
The family would like to extend a special gratitude to the staff at Overture Home Care and Garden Terrace Alzheimer's Center for the care they gave for their precious mother during her last years.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Waylon Blair Kirk, mother Gladys Walters and sisters Margaret Harlow and Jewel Daugherty.
Betty is survived by her daughter Tracey Kirk Conard, grandchildren Kirk Conard (wife Wendy Winkler), beloved brothers, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will occur Friday, June 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home - Chapel Of Chimes, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
A committal service will occur Friday, June 2, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Park 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
