Betty Tom Ford, aged 95, passed away on May 5, 2024. She was born on March 8, 1929, in Paris, Texas, she was the first child, and only daughter of Nora Thomas and Robert Wood Pratt, followed by her three ornery and beloved brothers.
Betty graduated from Paris High School in May of 1947. Shortly after graduating, she and Hollis married and settled in Fort Worth. She gave birth to daughter Holli, the day before her 30th birthday, on March 7, 1959.
She worked for Southwestern Bell for 34 years, starting out as a switchboard operator and advancing to manager at the time of her retirement in 1982. She spent her retirement years surrounded by family and friends, cooking, sewing and giving Hollis a hard time. She loved going on vacations with the family, but she always said that her favorite times were when we were all together at church, the whole pew filled with the ones she loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Holli (Tony) Graves, grandson Jimmy (Stephanie) Burch, granddaughter Lauren (Ben) Arsenault, great-grandchildren Angelica, Kody, Grayson, Greyson and Luke, and great-great grandson Wayne, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis Eugene Ford and her grandson Ronnie Dale Burch.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth, followed by the funeral service on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 10:00 in the morning at the Chapel of Chimes at Laurel Land Funeral Home, followed by her entombment in the mausoleum.
