A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 12:00pm. Inurnment will follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Mrs. Bryan was born in West Virginia to R. L. Perkins and Era Faye Perkins. In early childhood her family moved to Texas. She attended Mansfield Schools and graduated from Poly High School in Fort Worth. She attended Texas Wesleyan College where she met the love of her life. They quickly married before he shipped overseas for WWII and remained devoted to one another for 61 years. In later years, she helped her husband in his business endeavors.
Mrs. Bryan was a member of Handley United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She served on many committees and in many volunteer positions. She loved the Lord, her family, her church, and her church family. She was an accomplished seamstress and wonderful cook. She had the patience of a saint and was kind and caring to all. As part of the “Greatest Generation” she leaves behind a great legacy of love, faith, and service to her family, friends, and community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Bryan, parents, grandchild Amy Stevenson, great grandchildren Emily and Nathan Stevenson. Betty was also survived by her daughter, Deborah Stevenson, whom unfortunately passed soon after Betty's passing. The family rests knowing they have been reunited.
Mrs. Bryan is survived by her daughter Lisa K. Hill; son-in-law Bill Stevenson, grandchildren Billy Stevenson (Vicki), Bryan Stevenson (Misty), Jennifer Buice (Heath), Angela Shelton (Chris), Mandy Hill, great grandchildren Brayden, Angela, Jordan, Austin, Victoria, Kolby, Kaylynn, Allie, Ashlynn, Jordon, Jeremiah, sister-in-law Margie Hurley (Doyle) and many nieces and nephews.
