Bendette Shugart Ince

Bendette was born Sept. 18, 1931, to B.W. Shugart and Rachel Parker. She graduated from Technical High School in 1949. She married her sweetheart, Roy Lee Ince, on March 17, 1951. Roy and Bendette became parents in 1954 with the birth of a daughter, Joy Ann, and in 1955, a son, Roy Lee Jr., was born. She worked at Texas Employment Commission, Fort Worth ISD and General Dynamics, and retired from Bell Helicopter in 1997 with 19 years of service.

Bendette was a strong Christian woman and was a member of Gambrell Street Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star South Side Chapter. She was a loving and devoted wife to Roy and a beloved "Big Grandma" to seven grandchildren and eight precious great-grandchildren. She spent the last five years of her life at Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility in Clifton. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Roy Ince Sr.; her parents, B.W. Shugart and Rachel Parker Shugart; brother, Jack Shugart; sister, AdaLynne Shugart; and one great-grandchild, Benjamin William Lohmer Jr.

Survivors: Daughter, Joy Lohmer and husband, Peter, of Lake Whitney; son, Roy Jr. and wife, Janell, of Niwot, Colo.; grandchildren, Dell Foster and wife, Stacy, of Albuquerque, N.M., Danell Foster Harris and husband, Sean, of Redmond, Calif., Rev. Benjamin Lohmer Sr. and wife, Ruth, of Pattison, Matthew Lohmer and wife, Emily, of Blue Point, N.Y., Amy Lohmer Tamayo and husband, Bryan, of Allen, Krystle Ince and fiance, Ryan Phillips, of Phoenix, Ariz., T.J. Ince and wife, Lisa, of Goodyear, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Tamayo, Ella Tamayo, Lucy Tamayo, Ronan Harris, Xander Ince, Kate and Hannah; and numerous friends.
