Barbara was born in St. Louis, MO on August 22, 1935 to William and Sally Huber. She attended Sunset High School in Dallas and graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1953. She married Joe Crouch on October 16, 1954 at Calmont Church of Christ in Fort Worth. As a Coach’s wife, most of their anniversaries were spent at Texas High School Football stadiums in Tyler, Whitewright, Comanche, Georgetown, Glen Rose and Fort Worth. As a mother and grandmother, the list grew to include high school stadiums in Columbia, MO, Franklin, TN, and Grapevine, TX. She wouldn’t have had it any other way.
She was a member of the Fort Worth Junior Women’s Club and served at the national level, during which time she had the honor of meeting First Lady Pat Nixon.
Her faith sustained her throughout her life and she shared it with others in a beautiful way. Married for 64 years, she was happiest when at work in her favorite role as a homemaker and amateur gardener. As a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, little ones were delighted to be around her and some of their memories include tickling arms, initial pancakes, back scratching and listening to her sing.
She taught her family many things but maybe one of the sweetest was that “little things mean a lot”.
She is preceded in death by sister, Sandra Huber; brother, Bill Huber; grandson, Michael Daniel; son-in-law, Roy Tyndall.
She will be greatly missed by her husband of 64 years, Joe Crouch of Ft. Worth; daughter Donna (Dan) Daniel of Franklin, TN; daughter Mindy Tyndall of Ft. Worth; son David (Lisa) Crouch of Grapevine; daughter Marianne (Jeff) Englant of Ft. Worth; 13 precious grandchildren, Bonnie (Marshall) Rabil, Christine (Matt) Pinson, Beau (Whitney) Daniel, Emily (Clinton) Millican, Becky Daniel, Brad (Alison) Tyndall, Brian Daniel, Peter Crouch, Nathan Crouch, Jared Crouch, Melissa Jo Englant and Mary Kate Englant; 11 great-grandchildren, Jack Pinson, Noah Rabil, Sam Pinson, Nina Armstrong, Emma Tyndall, Eliza Millican, Carolina Millican, Baylin Daniel, Owen Pinson, May Rabil, and Barrett Millican; brother Charles (Donna) Huber, sister-in-law Nan Huber, brothers-in-law Ralph Crouch and Al (Anita) Crouch, sister-in-law Sarah Crouch, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers include her most-loved grandsons and great-grandsons.
Because of Barbara’s great love for children and families, the family requests memorials be made in her memory to Foster’s Home for Children, 1779 N. Graham Street, Stephenville, TX 76401.
She will be fondly remembered and missed by her family and friends.
