Barbara T. Connally

Barbara Mae Tomlinson Connally, age 85 passed from this life on May 31, 2022. She was born June 28, 1936 in Fort Worth, Texas and lived most of her life there. Her mother was Jessie Mae Owen and her father was James Benjamin Tomlinson. She married her college sweetheart, Charles Connally on July 2, 1954 who preceded her in death in 2019.

Barbara taught elementary school in Fort Worth for 36 years. She loved 5th and 6th grade and she even received the honor of Teacher of the Year.

She and Charles loved to travel and they traveled to Europe and Africa in 1973. She said many times that it was the highlight of her life. She and Charles also camped in New Mexico and Colorado with family and their church friends every summer where they made countless happy memories.

She had a special love for her sisters, Jan Branch and Pam Meyer and her many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted mother to her only daughter, Karen and her husband Jerry Combs. She adored her 2 granddaughters and their husbands, Emily and Nick Blaylock and Natalie and Mike Morin. Her treasured Great-grandchildren are Eden, Harrison, Grant, Greyson, and Garrett. They were truly the joy of her life.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ.

Barbara was a living example of the Bible verse…2 Corinthians 4:17. For our light affliction, which is for a moment, worketh for us a more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
