Annie Ragin Proctor

Roland and Major Neal were so very happy to announce the birth of Annie Laura Neal. This blessed event took place in Gilmer, Upshur County, Texas, on September 8, 1945. At a very young age, Annie attended Bruce Elementary School in Gilmer. She attended school there until the family moved to Grapevine, Texas.

Upon relocating, Annie then attended Grapevine Elementary School and later went on to I.M. Terrell High School in Ft. Worth, Texas. Annie graduated from I.M. Terrell High School in 1963. She confessed her hope in Christ and was baptized at Mt. Horum Baptist Church in Grapevine.

After high school, Annie entered the workforce and started her career at Baylor Medical Center which is now known as Baylor, Scott, and White Hospital. She started as a certified nurse's assistant and then went on to work in various roles at the hospital.

It wasn't long before her work ethic and attention to detail were noticed. At the urging of her supervisor who saw and recognized the talents and gifts she had, Annie went on to secretary school and found her passion and calling as a Secretary in the "AM Admit" portion of the hospital.

In this position Annie thrived and excelled in the work that she did over the course of 41 years. That work and its impact garnered acclaim from co-workers and patients alike resulting in several Baylor "Five Star Customer Service Awards" from patients and others. In her years of retirement, Annie often recalled fondly those times she spent with her colleagues helping others.

During her successful career, Annie met the love of her life Mr. Johnnie Proctor. After a brief period of dating, they knew they had found their soulmates in each other and became Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Proctor. They were married for over 30 years. They were inseparable until he passed on April 3, 2014.

Annie Laura Proctor departed this life on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. She joins her husband Johnnie Proctor, her Father Roland Neal, her Mother Major Neal, and her Brother Harold Neal who preceded her in passing away from this life. She leaves her Sister Evelyn Wright, her Brother Charles Neal (Wife - Landa Neal), and her Nephew Vernon Wright, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
