Allen Eugene Anderson, Sr., was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 11, 1949, to the Parentage of Mr. Andrew Anderson, Sr. and Mrs. Lula Mae Anderson. He was raised in a loving and God fearing home. At a young age, Allen confessed his Hope in Jesus Christ; he joined and was baptized at Greater St Paul MB Church, under the leadership of Pastor William Ealy. He was an active member of the youth Department, singing in the choir and was a member in the Usher Department.
Allen attended the Fort Worth Independent School District and was a graduate Of Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School, class of “68”. Allen was an avid football fan and played on The Varsity Football Team. Allen remained an avid football fan, with his favorite team being The Dallas Cowboys, and during his adult years, he and his brothers, sons and nephews would get together during football season to watch the games on Sunday and Monday’s.
In his freshman year, 1964, Allen met the young woman he would share an extraordinary life with, Marva Richardson. He knew one day he would marry Marva and that day was July 12, 1969. To this union, they were blessed with three bundles of joy, Allen, Jr, Demery and Marvin. Allen and Marva joined Mayfield Missionary Baptist Church and raised their family in the church. They joined under the leadership of Pastor R.V. Jones and after the Pastor’s death, they served under the leadership of Dr. Larry T. Hall. Allen remained a faithful member until he received God’s call.
Allen’s Career
Allen started his career working at Bill Sodd’s while still in high school. In his adult years, he was employed by Lone Star Liquor as a Sales Representative. While employed with Lone Star, he was name the number one salesman in the State of Texas. He was also employed with Quality Beverage, continuing as a Sales Representative. Allen was later employed with Toys R Us in a managerial position and remained there until his health begin to fail.
Those left to cherish his precious memories: His loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Marva Anderson, two sons, Demery Anderson, Marvin (Stacie) Anderson; five siblings: Charles Anderson (Linda), Edward Anderson, Sr., Pattie Smith (Alvin), Clarice White, Annette Price (J.D.); five grandchildren, Shinique Taylor-Anderson, Brooklyn Anderson, Kyndal Anderson, Madison Anderson, Marvin Anderson II, one great grandchild, Amald Lightfoot; one uncle, three aunt’s and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Lula Mae Anderson, son Allen Anderson, Jr., brother Andrew Anderson, Jr, brother-in-law, Albert White, Sr., and sister-in-law, Debra Anderson.
