Maria Eliza “Alice” Calderon, 93, of Fort Worth, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 18, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at St Andrews Catholic Church, 3312 Dryden Road, Fort Worth, 76109. Burial will follow in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Chapel with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 pm. Alice was born June, 21,1923 in Mexia,Texas to Antonio Martinez and Francisca Herreia Martinez. Alice had many hobbies which included playing bingo, going out to eat, watching soap operas, and cheering for the Texas
Rangers Baseball team and the Dallas Cowboys. Alice was married to her husband Victor Calderon for 42 years. Alice had been a resident of Fort Worth for 73 years. Alice worked at Abrandt Furniture for over 30 years until it closed and the she worked at working connection until she retired at 80 years of age.
Alice is preceded in death by Inocensio Herrera, Decideria Lopez, Julian Martinez, Roseria Martinez, Antonio Martinez, Francisca Herrera Martinez, Phillip Martinez, Thomas Martinez, Ponciano Martinez, Andres Martinez, Pedro Martinez, Richard Martinez, Rocendo Calderon, Jesse Calderon, Victor Calderon, Mary Louisa Garcia.
Survivors include her two children: Joe Calderon and Christine Bosquez, sisters: Katy Valle, Lupe Flores, Sara Martinez, Rita Rodriguez, Rosa Lee Salinas, 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
