Alice Mae Bratton, 95, beloved mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2012 at Watson’s Nursing Home in Fort Worth, Texas. Alice was born May 24, 1916 in Guymon, Oklahoma. She married Mike Bratton of Guymon April 1, 1939 in Clayton, New Mexico. After graduation from Guymon High School she attended college in Goodwell, Oklahoma for several semesters. Her first job was as a switchboard operator at the local telephone company. She and Mike had five children, two of them dying in infancy in Michigan. She was an active member of Sunset Lane Baptist Church until moving to Arlington, Texas to live with family where she attended Northwest Baptist Church. She taught pre-school in Sunday School for many years and she was able to sing all of the old hymns from memory with her beautiful alto voice. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Bratton, her sons Duane, James, and Mike Jr., her daughter Cozette Wortham, her son-in-law Joe Wortham, her parents James and Amanda Nance, her sisters Gladys Dow and Ethel Grice. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Moberley and husband Tommy from Arlington, Texas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Michelle Wortham, Jimmy Wortham and wife Jill, Misty Craft and husband Bruce, Mike Bratton III, Marcus Bratton, Jeff Moberley and wife Angela, and Alissa Bass and husband Tim, fourteen great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
