Albert Aaron Miller Jr.

He was born on April 10, 1930 in Brownwood, Texas to Azella Riddle Miller and Albert A. Miller, Sr. He had three younger siblings: Beryl Marie, Joseph Harold and Leah Josephine.

In 1950, he married his long-time sweetheart, Ione Wood at Polytechnic Baptist Church in Fort Worth. They had three children Gregory Wayne, Paula Gayle and Claudia Lyn. After the tragic loss of Ione in 2000, Aaron met and married Donnie Faye Sanders, who he said brought the peace and order back to his life. This added to his family her son and grand-daughter Terry Stephen and Stephanie Lauren.

Aaron would be the first to tell you that he was immensely blessed. He had strong Christian parents and siblings. He had a fulfilling career, two church families, and two loves of his life. His school career included 2 years working at Buckner Children’s Home in Dallas, Texas; and 40 years in Fort Worth Independent School District. In 1952, he started as a 7th-8th grade arithmetic teacher, then transitioned to school counselor, and then to administrator. He retired in 1990, but continued for 10 years to substitute for various FWISD schools as principal and vice-principal at all levels.

Aaron and Ione built a life and raised their family first at Poly Baptist Church where Aaron began his work with the Royal Ambassadors program and even served 3 years as the Tarrant Baptist Association RA Leader. Later, they worshiped at University Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was involved with missions and community outreach.

Aaron and Donnie built their life in Fort Worth. They both have a heart for children and missions, and have been blessed with loving church families at University Baptist Church and the Village. When he was away from church and work, Aaron enjoyed being with his family. His joy was watching the family mature and actually being involved with the kids as they grew up. He loved to be outside hunting or fishing especially with Greg, Tim and his Buddies.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joseph Miller of Fort Worth; his sister, Beryl Featherston of Farmersville, Texas; his first wife, Ione and their daughter, Paula Witter, both of Fort Worth.

He is survived by and deeply missed by his wife Donnie Faye; her son, Terry Sanders of Wise County; his son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Sharon Miller; his daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and David Ybarra; grand-daughter, Maribeth Miller Kinsbury, Melody Miller Quinn and grandson Timothy Witter and their spouses and seven great-grandkids - all of Fort Worth; granddaughter and her spouse, Stephanie Sanders Flynn and Matt of Round Rock, Texas; sister, Leah Bedford of Phoenix, Arizona, and a host of other family and friends.
