WILLIAM E. RICHESON JR., 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at home with his family by his side. Born March 1, 1927, in Henryet-ta, Okla., he was a son of the late William and Johanna (Berkey) Richeson. William was a World War II era Army veteran. He worked as a Senior Staff Scientist at Magnavox/Phillips for over 32 years, from which he retired in 1993. William was a holder of 53 patents; his technical contributions influenced the world. He was a self-made renaissance man, a man of faith, and known for his delightful sense of humor. He was a member of The Chapel, the American Legion and the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Gooding) Richeson of Fort Wayne; son, Joe (Karen) Richeson of Fort Wayne; daughters, Jan (Danny) Davis of Corona, Calif., Mary (Thomas) Graves of Columbia City, Ind., Christy (Thomas) Stein of Fort Wayne, and Heather (Craig) Witte of Franklin, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Lou (Andy) Anderson of Panama City, Fla..; brother, Warner (Janet) Richeson of Plano, Texas; and brother-in-law, Robert (Ginny) Gooding of Grants Pass, Ore. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Charles and John Richeson; and sister, Valentine Goodman. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Road S., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
