William J. Linnemeier, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully at his home on December 31, 2016. Born on March 3, 1931, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late, Carl and Mildred Linnemeier. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University in Accounting, later earning a Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana University. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. He served on the board of directors for the Lutheran Foundation, the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Concordia Lutheran High School and the Concordia Educational Foundation. He served his country in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He retired in 1997 from Linnemeier, Cook & Company, after many years as a partner in the firm.
He is survived by his daughter, Heidi (William J.) Swiss, of Butler; sister-in-law, Louise Linnemeier, of Fort Wayne; nephews, Will (Becky), Jay (Sheilah) Craig (Wendy) Linnemeier; nieces, Lisa (Mark) Quinn, and Lori (Mark) Olson. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Beverly J. (Schulz) Linnemeier, in 2013; son, Carl F. Linnemeier; brother, Thomas Linnemeier.
Funeral service will be 11am Wednesday, January 4, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1126 S. Barr Street, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Tuesday, January 3, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne. Memorial donations may be given to St. Paul's Operating Endowment Fund or Concordia Educational Foundation Linnemeier Scholarship Fund.
