William “Bill” M. Lauer, 62, went to live with the angels on April 16th, 2015 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Born November 17, 1952 in Fort Wayne he was the son of Elmer and Patricia Lauer. Bill was a graduate of Snider High School and then went on to complete his apprenticeship to become a sheet metal worker. He spent 32 years in the field and was employed at Schust Engineering as an Industrial Project Manager at the time of his death. He enjoyed his job and those he worked with very much. Bill is known for his hard work and dedication towards his friends, loved ones and clients. He was an avid gardener, builder, cook and wood worker. He enjoyed IU basketball and fishing on the lake in his free time. Besides his parents, Bill is survived by his two lovely daughters, Jade (Chad Armstrong) Lauer and Heather Lauer. He has two brothers, Kenneth (Connie) Lauer and Chris (Mary Sue) Lauer; five sisters, Rosemary (Jeff) Hearn, Susan (Marty) Didion, Teresa (Jim) Wyss, Kathleen (Jake) Miller, and Barbara Lauer. He also has a brother in law, Scott Wagner, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded by a sister, Anita Wagner and brother; Patrick Lauer. A funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Allen County Humane Shelter. Bill was loved by many and will be missed.
