Wilbur Valentine “Wimpy” Rodenbeck, 95, died Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Kingston Residence in Fort Wayne. He was born on February 14, 1918 to Charles and Dessie (Isenbarger) Rodenbeck and was married to Althea Tarr for 52 years. He proudly served in the Army Air Corps in Europe during WWII, worked for many years at International Harvester, owned several restaurants/taverns in Fort Wayne, and retired as a salesman with Fort Wayne Liquors. He is survived by his two sons, Steven of Fremont and Michael (Laura) of Ossian. He dearly loved his grandchildren, Benjamin of Indianapolis, Rachelle of West Lafayette, and Nathan of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his wife Althea, a son David, his parents, and eight siblings. Wimpy was truly one-of-a-kind. In lieu of a traditional service, a visitation/celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at the American Legion Post 296, 130 W Tillman Road, Fort Wayne, from 1 to 5 p.m. Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
