Vivian J. Albert, 88, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at home. Born in Culver, IN, Vivian was the daughter of the late Arthur and Velma (nee Zechiel) Hatten. She married the late Vaughn Albert on October 16, 1949. Together they were dedicated members of churches wherever they lived, singing in and supporting the choirs. Vivian worked 20 years at Lincoln National Life Insurance Co., retiring in 1993 as a Systems Consultant. In retirement she enjoyed her grandchildren, traveled with Vaughn to barbershop competitions, kept in touch with friends, and loved puzzles and games. Vivian spread peace, love and faith to all she came into contact with. Surviving are her two sons; Frederick V. (Debbie) Albert of Bloomington, IN and Jeffrey D. (Sue) Albert of Fort Wayne; daughters, Mary A. (Gail Ahumada) Albert of St. Louis, MO and Janice L. (Jim) Reams of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and brother Robert A. Hatten of Salt Lake City, UT. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Harold E. Hatten, Howard F. Hatten, Irwin D. Hatten, and sister, Edith P. Banks. Service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Peace United Church of Christ, 9123 Aboite Center Road. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb and Sons Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., and from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Preferred memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice, Peace United Church of Christ, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
