Vernon Leroy Howard

Vernon Howard, 59, of Pittsford, Mich., and formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born September 20, 1958 in Kendallville, he was a son of the late Blanton and Janice (Hamilton) Howard. Vernon was a truck driver for many years and enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking out, hunting, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Pam (Goggans) Howard of Pittsford, Mich.; children, Maria Kasunic of Chicago, Sheena Myers of Fort Wayne, Barbie Richards of Joliet, Ill., Erica Howard of Hialeah, Fla., Vernon “Boo” Howard of Kenansville, Fla., and Colton Howard of Kenansville, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Kaylee, Kendra, Brock, Dominic, Damien, Donovan, Brayden, and Zander; sisters, Tina (Dale) Dorman, Wanda “Wo” Howard, and Carla Howard, all of Fort Wayne; half-brothers, Stephen and Clayton Howard, both of West Liberty, KY; nephews, Pat, Scotty, Christopher, and Darik; and niece, Crystal. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Jim Moyer; and sister-in-law, Cheryal Gonzalez. Funeral Service will be 1:00pm on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior (family requests casual attire for the calling and funeral service). Memorials may be made to the family in care of Pamela Howard.
