VERA O. NEWBY HILL, 97, from Noblesville, Ind., took her last breath on Mon., Aug 11, 2014, at her grand-daughter's home in Fort Wayne, with family members at her side. She was a retired School Teaher. She is survived by her two children, Jane (Geoff) Hatch of Phoenix, Ariz. and Joan (Bill) Borders of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Newby, in 1965, he was a prominent businessman, in Noblesville. Graveside service is 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville, Ind. Joe Schwartz will be reading selections from the former Mrs. Newby's collection of poetry and final rites of her death written in 1935 when she attended Ball State Teacher's College.
