Vera M. Wallace Becker

Vera Mae Becker, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at her home. She was born May 15, 1922 in Waynedale and was a homemaker, devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Becker enjoyed many hobbies, but her most loved activity was spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Gary Joe Becker (companion Cheryl Blondell) , Douglas A. Becker (longtime companion Ruth Doan) , and Lana J. Cowens (Jim) , all of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Angela (formerly West) and Tony Hudson and Greg Becker, both of Fort Wayne; great grandchildren, Sam and Stella Hudson; three step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother, sister, and her husband, Wilbert “Bud” H. Becker. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Grove Cemetery. Preferred memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, Aging and In Home Services, or American Heart Association.
