Tom graduated from the Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis, Indiana as the valedictorian of his class. Here, he met his beautiful bride Sharon A. Manis, and they married June 1, 1963. Tom was a mail handler for the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 2007. Tom enjoyed camping, taking care of his yard, watching sports, and spending time with his family and large circle of friends. Tom was always known for making others laugh with his bigger than life personality, and never knew a stranger wherever he went. More than anything, Tom was a devoted family man and who made sure his wife and children knew his love and wanted for nothing.
Tom is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Sharon A. (Manis) Hazelett. Tom is survived by his children, Rick (Cheri) Hazelett of Decatur, Indiana, Alan Hazelett of Woodburn, Indiana, Kim Hazelett of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Michelle (Travis) Clark of Westfield, Indiana; grandchildren, Chelsey, Caleb, Toby, Landon, and Brady; great-grandchildren, Brantley, Scarlette, and Emersyn. He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Hazelett.
A private service for the immediate family will be held, with entombment at Covington Memorial Gardens. Memorial Donations in Tom's honor may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for Tom's family may be shared at www.McCombandSons.com
