Thomas W. “Tom” Harris, died peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2024, after a long battle with PSP (Progressive supranuclear palsy), at Park Place Senior Living. Tom was a lifelong resident of Harlan, Indiana, graduating from Harlan High School in 1956. He went on to be an electrician in Local 305 before he moved into the office at Shambaugh & Son, where he remained for more than 35 years, before retiring as President of Shambaugh’s electrical group. Tom was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Brandom) Harris; three sons, Tom (Mindy); Tim (Ronda), and Tyler (Kim) Harris, all of Fort Wayne. Six grandsons, Doug (Katie); Dan (Meagan); Dylan (Alex); Ethan; AJ, and Evan Harris. Great-grandchildren, Jackson, Parker, Julia, and Piper Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Mary Harris, and a sister, Mary Lou Mendenhall. Funeral service is 11 am Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan.
